Elías Adam Bitar is a Mexican lawyer specialized in taxes. Elías advises individuals and companies on local, federal and international tax matters and helps his clients design and implement corporate, estate and succession planning strategies.
Elías' practice focuses primarily on serving high-net-worth individuals and families and tax-exempt organizations, as well as companies with international operations in the technology, energy and real estate development industries, and the financial sector.
Work History
Elías began his career working for two years at the firm Adam y Asociados Abogados, and then joined Ortiz, Sainz y Erreguerena (known at that time as Ortiz, Sainz y Tron) where he worked in the area of tax advisory and tax planning services. of said signature. until 2001. Then, Elías worked for the New York firm White & Case until 2004. Then, Elías joined Tron Abogados where he became a partner in 2009.
Since 2013, Elías has been a partner at EY and has led the firm's Private Client Services in Mexico. He has also served as a Mexican delegate for the EY Global Technology Center in the California Bay Area, USA, focusing on providing international tax services to clients in the technology and biotechnology industries.
Elías has worked as a partner in EY's International Tax Services Area, leading the Latin America Tax Desk for EY's US West Coast region. Elías worked in the EY office in San Diego, California.
As of October 2019, Elías leads his own practice as CEO of Common Lineage, LLC.

Education, Certifications and Awards.
Elías graduated as a lawyer (Cum Laude) from the Universidad Panamericana, where he later completed a Master's Degree in Tax Law. Finally, Elías completed another postgraduate degree in International Financial Law at the University of Oxford.
In 2011, Elías received certification as a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners in London, England. He has also been certified as a tax expert by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants in Mexico City.
Currently, Elías is the academic coordinator of the international tax program at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Panamericana located in Mexico City and teaches several courses in the University's graduate programs in law and accounting.
Elías has also been an invited speaker in various courses and has collaborated in publications organized and published by The Academy and Finance of Geneva, the University of Vienna, the International Tax Association (Rotterdam, Netherlands), the University of San Francisco, and the University of NY.
